The kids are all right

We're living in Vic right now, and was hoping I could get some feedback on the availabilty or need for childcare on the gulf islands...We are planning to open up a sacred safe space for the "aware" children, well all children, a place where they will be somewhat guided if needed, but mainly supported on their respective paths and with their special gifts.....I guess one could call this spritual childcare....

Anyone know of how succesful this could be or of any places currently operating like this????

MUch appreciated....

peace!

    hi,
i lived on galiano island for the last 5 years and moved to vancouver 6 months ago.
i just saw the question you posted, and from my experience i would say a big YES for child care need on Galiano Island.

From what i saw in the past when parents needed some space from the kids they had to find an other parent that is somewhat close to them to do the favor of child care for them. with some none spoken expectation that the (so called freed from kids) parents would return the favor in the future by doing child care to the gardien parents. which is not a bad thing at all...

There is no such a place called Child Care that parents can rely on it when ever they needed it and trust that they are in a safe place and go with peace of mind to do what ever they needed to do.

If that is what you are called to do rebecca i totally encourage you.
As far as other islands, i don't really know much. Notice that inbetween islands movments is practically none existant. generally speaking the people are happy with the island they are on.

    have fun

hey. i'm a young poppa on hornby, and yeah, ther's definitely a need for childcare (especially the conscious kind) out here. it's pretty much the same scene as galiano. and the public daycare here is more a space to learn about guns, which words really make adults react, and bullies.
